Comments:
Unbelievable, stats. Come on, this can't be real. Just can't,

If the stats are true, I am going to say bye bye to DDM. I really hate when every body play with CE.

The original Post Says Kissed not killed.

Not bad. On paper, he doesn't look too underpriced or overpriced. Some really interesting abilities too ...

If they don't put something equally amazing into the good alignments, yeah.... that's a little too much good for CE, which already has a lot to be happy about. Point-wise, I'd put its efficiency as more effective than an LSD. Fortunately, CE doesn't get buff spells easily... or Balor bands would be unstoppable.

Honestly I'm somewhat disappointed in the Epic stats on this one, or the stats for the non-Epic are terribly undercosted.

Four 285 points I could bring in three non-epics for a total of 375 Hp, and 6 attacks at +16 for (20 + vicious) on the first 3 and (10 magic + 5 fire) on the last three. That's (90 magic + 15 fire) total assuming I don't critical with one of them or I can move with each one and do 20 damage to three separate pieces each. Not to mention enslave is now all over the battle field, guaranteeing anyone who fails a morale save will probably be subject to it.

The most attractive stats on this monster are red tide and enslave. I really see no purpose in using the more expensive Epic version. The differences in stats between the two are just not great enough, assuming these statistics are true.

The 95 pt guy is pretty solid - terrible hitpoints as usual for these kinds of pricey units, but the command effect and Red Tide are both awesome. The Epic version isn't worth it at all, especially since Guy confirmed Vorpal doesn't work against Undead/Constructs that are immune to critical hits.

To the guy threatening to quit DDM - go right ahead, and don't let the door hit your butt on the way out. If you think a 95 pt figure with 125 hitpoints is too good, then there's no helping you.

I see a lot of Fearless bands coming into play against this big nasty. Lots of Undead or some Justice Archon with a Sword Archon commander. Balor would be screwed.

Yeah, I rethought that this morning... JAs and a Cleric of Dol Arrah could really drop a beating on him. Hit 50% of the time for 20, and then go for dismissal if he fails his morale save.

The problem I have on the wording is vicious attack. Eye of Gruumsh has vicious attack, but its VERY different: Vicious Attack (Whenever this creature hits with a melee attack, it deals 5 magic damage to itself).

And the bands that Balor stands to be most effective against are... well, CE beater bands. And CG bands featuring Goliath Barbarians. He needs to beat on creatures that have a very high HP total, low saves, and not fearless. He'd probably have a problem facing the likes of a mounted paladin.

Yeah the Mounted Paladin could either rout him in 2 turns or kill him in 3.

so far none of the epics have been really worth it compared to the originals. both versions serve the same purpose, and the eic verisons usualy get rather small boost in power compared with the regaular ones ( when you look at point ratios)
the small balor will be quite good. the quad gets pwnd by him (highac for rav, hp to tkae some orc hits, can hit back and if they fail a moral, then youve just got yourself a huge swing.) he can go head to head with lsd, ( and save fro paralysis quite well) fast and big enough to chase an archmage and red tide and enslav ewill really shine in that matchup (tho i admit that hes not quite as go0d there as in other matchups)
for other casters the immunities are huge. i think balor probably tier 1.
