Aberrations Rulebook changes

Phoenix has made these lists of the significant changes in the Aberrations rulebook:

  • Wild is added to replace Difficult 20.
  • Allies can now be targeted by gaze attacks. (p. 12, 32)
  • You can make AoO against your own confused creature if you opponent is controlling it. (p. 29)
  • The rules now include changing a creatures facing to indicate it has been activated. (p. 8)
  • Figures with Tiny Reach threaten adjacent squares even though they cannot make AoO. (p. 38) (I'm not sure if this was true before. The GoL sheet says tiny cannot make AoO, which would make me think that they don't threaten adjacent squares.)
  • The game ends if no attack or save has been made for 10 rounds. (p. 26) (Instead of 5 rounds.)
  • I don't see anything forbidding Huge creatures in 100 and 200 point bands. (These rules are part of the tournament rules).
  • Terrain: Blood Rock Cave (p. 22) Similar to Abbatoir tile.
  • Terrain: Spike Stones (p. 24) Terrain which causes 5 magic damage to move through.
  • New Spells:There are a lot of sections that mention invisibility, so it seems likely we'll see a creature that can go invisible.
  • Blast of Flame (cone, 30 fire damage, ignore Spell Resistance, DC16) (p. 20)
  • Entangled is added to the glossary as a spell effect. (p. 31) The creature acts normally until it tries to move. Then it makes a save. If it fails it can do nothing until it makes a new saving throw. Any successful save removes the entangle effect.
  • Wall of Force is mentioned as a spell that blocks line of effect. (p. 34)
  • New Abilities:Death Burst is written so that it can have an area of effect greater than just adjacent creatures. (p.30)
  • The glossary now lists both ranged and melee sneak attack. (pp 34,36)
  • Phase Out. (p.35) Some creatures will now have the ability to phase out during the game.
  • Not Subject to Commander Effects (p.34) New special ability for some creatures? Ignore both friendly and enemy commander effects.
  • Reroll (p. 36) Maybe we'll see the luck domain on a cleric.
  • Slow Melee Attack (p. 37) Similar to slow ranged attack. Any ideas what would have a slow melee attack? A new zombie perhaps?
  • Incited/Inhibited (pp 32-33) An Incited creature must be activated before all other creatures in a warband. Similarly an inhibited creature must be activated last.
  • Any warband: New spells or effects will target any warband. (p. 28)
  • Adamantine Laced is not in the glossary.
  • Frightened (p. 31) A new condition; -4 to AC, attacks and saves.
  • Fey is added to the glossary. (p. 31)
  • Immediate Action: A new type of swift action that can be done when it isn't your turn. (p. 32) (I think this might be what the Ochre Jelly has.)
  • Morale save +[#] Some creatures will have a bonus to morale saves. (p. 34)
