Tournament format changes - discussion

There's an ongoing discussion on the Wizards boards about possible changes to tournament formats and rules, started by one of the Wizard's Miniatures staff (Mons). You might want to drop by.

Dagni reported this:

From talking with Rob and Mike at GenCon, there were a couple format changes they talked about pretty specifically.

First, one that sounded like a totally set in stone change (new OP rules come out Sep 1st). Summons will be worth victory points when killed. This could really kill the effectiveness of the current summoners, but at least future summoners can be costed to reflect that change.

Quickstrike scenario will be replaced with a new scenario - one that should be even harder on an LSD band. Sounds like some kind of "King of the Hill" board control objective(s), where one player gets a certain amount of Victory Points each round if he fulfills the appropriate condition(s). So the idea being that this scenario should completely hose a turtle band, and possibly make little difference to most other bands.

I didn't go to the Skirmish Seminar, so this is secondhand, but assuming the following quote is pretty much exact and not a paraphrase, Quickstrike won't be the only scenario change for OP. The developers said that they were "playtesting with the new scenarios"
