Paired rares in War of the Dragon Queen?

Although, according to Stephen Schubert, no pairing was intended with War of the Dragon Queen, it has been observed that many cases contain two "paired" huge rares:
  • Aspect of Tiamat with Aspect of Bahamut
  • Eldritch Giant with Tundra Scout
  • Sorcerer on Black Dragon with Dracolich

This is not 100% guaranteed - it's accidental - but you should know this may occur.

From Stephen Schubert:

"Each case should have two Huge rares, and we try to avoid duplication within a case, but other than that it's pretty much random."

Comments:
After opening 40 cases, we found 3 cases that did not conform to one of the following pattern. The 37 other cases had one of the following Huge distribution (we did not note the rares):

Spider + Tundra Scout + Purple Worm + Troll + Fire Elemental + Eldritch Giant
Bluespawn + Fire Elemental + Tiamat + Bahamut + Displacer + Purple Wurm
Bluespawn + Dracolich + Troll + Displacer + Spider + Sorcerer on Black Dragon

i only got three cases, but i ended up with two of the bahamut/tiamat distributions ... unfortuneately, one of the bahamut/tiamat cases had two bluespawn, a troll, and a displacer rather than the typical setup you listed. i would have been happy with zero bluespawn, but now i have three.

i also noticed that i got exactly one 'common' twig blight per case (not so common) ... i also got exactly one meepo per case, for comparison.

I myself have received a single box with a griffon rider, and a eldritch giant.

Two rares... thought I was lucky until I found out about this garbage distribution.

Reminds me of the MotG Legends set problems they had.

Also the set contains 18 rares, forcing you to buy at least 18+ packs to have a remote chance of collecting 60 figures.

This is asinine.

Jonas, a *regular* set of DDM has 24 rares, requiring you to buy 24 packs to get a full set. WotDQ requires fewer packs.

The huges are meant to be independent from the regular rares, so you can (and will) get a huge rare and a normal rare in 1/3 of packs. In the other 2/3, you'll get a huge uncommon and a normal rare.

Cheers,
Merric
