Ian Richards on OP for 2006
Ian Richards posted the following on maxminis.com:
I know how much you guys love getting information scoops so... I'm going to start the 2006 tease thread where I'll release bits of information about this year's Championships from time to time.
First up: Trophies - Soldiers die for it and babies cry for it... recognition. No DDM winner can not have that so we give them trophies. Not some hunk of glass or metal they get to hide in their geekness but a playable piece that can grace your computer room or be at home on your battlemap.
Well I hinted that these would be a Colossal or Gigantic problem for the winners this year and they truly will.I just had dispatched the VERY FIRST prototype Colossal Red and Gigantic Black Dragon to be hand painted and changed. Not only will this year's trophies by unique from the perspective of a fantastic hand paint and base job with some variants of pose but these are truly the very first to exist here at Wizards of the Coast. These were made and sent to us to OK before any went into full production From these all others came so you have the true Father/Mother of both lines as prizes. They have no base text for instance and are presently in their raw no paint form. Therefore these will be true UNIQUE prizes that can not be duplicated ever again.
Third and Fourth will get the same HUGE WotDQ Miniature but with paint and basing differences as we always do.
That's it for now... more in coming weeks.
