Even more GenCon news

From the GamingReport.com article on the D&D previews seminar:

Fantastic Locations: series of products include short RPG adventure with additional skirmish rules in the back. With full color poster maps.
* Fane of the Drow (2 maps of the Drow complex, and 2 of dungeon (places where Epic battles can unfold)). This ties to the 8th miniatures project (Underdark).
* Hellspike Prison - maps of deep caverns (2 of magma complex) - these are very different which can be used in the game. 3 of the 4 maps are designed to be tournament legal for miniatures play.
* Keep of the Fallen King - ties into mini set 9, War Drums - that mini set has strong war themes - siege engines, cool stuff). This product will be about battlefields and fields of ruin, and other surfaces to play on. Two maps are ruins, two are battlefields.

Minis Set 9: War Drums: As some of you have learned through playing miniatures skirmish game, we're changing the way it plays a little bit: removing tiles and using poster maps instead. We've playtested it. Presenting more epic miniatures with 2 stat cards (for playing in 200 or 500 point warbands with RPG stats for suitable for lower levels.) There are some monsters we're representing in minis that are quite powerful (hence the two versions). You can expect to see a commander in every booster. Minis: arcane siege engine, war troll, aspect of .....

Sons of Gruumsh: Part of the ongoing effort at Wizards to give you more adventures. 32 pages, low level, your players running around beating the crap out of orcs. (first since Spider Queen). All of the encounters are written so you can play them with existing miniatures. The designer is particularly proud of the stronghold. You can use it for any D&D Setting.

Q. Will there be miniature scenario books like the Star Wars Ultimate Missions?
A. We're talking about that. To a certain extent, Fantastic Locations give you some. We're looking at full blown.

Q: Any more huge creatures in upcoming mini sets?
A: Yes. in 2006.

Q. -- unknown question --
A. It takes like 14 months for us to start a miniature set to be completed, you won't see until 2007 (but you did give us this idea last year) - big miniatures. (?? what does this mean ??)
