Are the Basic Game (Blue Dragon edition) minis legal?

This issue has been causing some debate recently, as the new Basic Game has figures with different names from the original releases.

Those miniatures should be allowed in tournament play, and efforts are underway to update the DCI floor rules appropriately. Until that update has occurred (and I don't actually have an ETA at the moment), an event's judge would be the final arbiter. Of course, this issue is likely best brought up with a judge prior to an event, instead of trying to spring it in an effort to generate conflict. - this thread
