"Drow Outpost" map in Dragon #337

SYB on the wizards boards has posted details of the Drow Outpost map included in Dragon #337:
On first glance the Drow Outpost looks like hell for a ranged unit. Then you notice that some of things that are supposedly walls are actually pits (with full details about how to use pits in DDM in the magazine). And, since the center of the board is a victory point location (for both sides), the map suddenly takes on a whole new aspect. My first instinct is that flying units with ranged attacks will DOMINATE this board by jumping back and forth over pits while pelting the enemy (Warlock and Archmage both have flight, don't they?). Also, commanders can stand on one side of the pit, while safely giving their commander effects to minions. Anyone else have thoughts on this map?

Stephen Schubert (WotC R&D) has these additional notes:
The Drow Outpost map, btw, was designed to fit between one of the drow enclave/fane maps of Fane of the Drow, and one of the Hellspike Prison maps, for those that want to cover their tables with three connected maps.I think it's kinda cool. Then again - company shill and all that... Future maps will investigate other fantastic locations, and one of my favorite maps (reusable in most RPGs and very compelling for skirmish) is in the fantastic locations product after Hellspike Prison.
