No Set 9...

Just to clarify for those who haven't caught up with my sense of humour: Yes, my announcement of set 9 is a hoax. There is no set 9. D&D Miniatures will be cancelled after set 8... no, sorry... try again...

Yes, there will be a Set 9. No, I don't know what it is, nor the details of the set.

However, I expect that sometime in 2006 (Set 9, 10 or 11) we'll see a set that will follow the guidelines that I've laid out: there will be Huge figures in it, the rarity system for huges will be adjusted (most likely to the 6 R/9U, 2:1 scheme, as it is the easiest to implement - a case will have one of each Uncommon and half the Rares)... oh, and there's not going to be an ultrarare - I hope! If my announcement for Set 9 actually comes to pass, it probably means I've been really good at channelling the DDM designers!

Set 8: Underdark is a real set, and that's the real promotional page from the catalogue, as scanned by Soularm. The RRP is currently $12.99 (the $19.99 is for the Aberrations starter). Of course, things can change over the next six months.
