Guenhwyvar stat card pictures

While the fig is an excellent sculpt, WHY DOES IT NEED TO LEAP OFF THE BASE FOR WHAT LOOKS LIKE THE EQUIVALENT OF 2.5 BASES?
What is the need to have figs that are Medium take up space equivalent to a Large Fig, and Large Figs take up huge spaces for the sculpts?
